NEW YORK, NY (AUGUST 3, 2010) – MOKSHA ARTS, the US based dance academy, announces today that Terence Lewis of Dance India Dance will be holding workshops in the USA. Spanning over three weeks in nine cities throughout the US, Terence Lewis will be conducting his “Any Body Can Dance” workshops from September 11th through October 2nd.
Two day, three-hour intensive workshops will be conducted in NYC, Central NJ, Boston, Washington DC, Houston, Dallas, Irvine, Fremont, and Los Angeles. No past formal training is required. Registration is accepted via www.eknazar.com and www.sulekha.com and available on a first come first serve basis. Space is limited to allow for personal attention to each student.
Terence Lewis, the renowned celebrity choreographer and judge of ZEE TV’s Dance India Dance, founded the Mumbai based Terence Lewis Dance Academy in 1999, which specializes in various dance forms including Contemporary, Bollywood, and Indian Classical. The academy offers professional courses including training programs for all ages along with a diploma in dance.
Terence Lewis has choreographed International stage shows, Mega Bollywood shows, exclusive corporate launches, Broadway musicals, along with feature films & music videos. He was the first Indian to receive the prestigious Dance WEB Scholarship, representing India in Vienna, Austria as well as the first Indian to represent Asia at the International Choreographer’s Meet on the TANZ platform in Stuttgart, Germany. In addition, Terence has personally trained celebrities such as Madhuri Dixit, Amisha Patel, Antara Mali, Malaika Arora, and many others. Finally an opportunity arises for US based residents to train with Terence Lewis this September 2010 in the comfort of their own city.
Terence Lewis will be conducting this workshop gratis. A portion of the proceeds from this workshop will go to the benefit of The Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust (TLDFST), a one of its kind dance scholarship with an aim to offer dance as a serious career option. The foundation was established in 2005 to support the education and professional training of young talented dancers in India through the Diploma in Dance Program.
